Hi, I’m Ryan Cullen from Ms Duggan’s Fifth Class. For around a month, we have been learning about the Great Famine and reading the novel ”Under The Hawthorn Tree”. We have been typing, learning and researching about the Great Famine
and everyonegot great work done! Our Famine project included interesting facts about the Great Famine. Each group in 5A has a booklet with the groups work in it.
”Under The Hawthorn Tree” was a great book! We answered quiz questions and we did worksheets for our display. ”Under The Hawthorn Tree” is about three childen who must find their great-aunts when their parents dissappear. Along the way, there are lots of obstacles. In my opinion, ”Under The Hawthorn Tree” is a great book! We hope you like our Famine display!!!
Today , St. Joseph’s participated in the South Dublin County Cross Country . There were 48 boys from Joey’s who were in the races today . In the races there were 10 places up for grabs. St. Joseph’s won most of the events .

School reopens Wednesday 31st August
5th of July and here we are on our long awaited summer hols enjoying the sun! But no, we are, 13 of us here in school at a computer course gleefully upskilling ourselves.
The Gardening Club held a barbeque for the parents and pupils on Tuesday. The S.N.A.s and gardeners demonstrated that they could not only grow the veggies but cook them too. Unfortunately no veggie can compete with barbeque sausages! Well done everyone on a great day.

Don’t forget folks the end of year concert is coming up! It’s on in Moyle Park on Saturday June 25.
It promises to be great fun and all the boys are working really hard to get ready for the show.
We really need your support as the funds raised will go towards the much needed school extension. Tickets are still available through the school so come on folks. It will be a great night’s entertainment.
